Have you ever wondered how to support a student with a reading disability? Then this is the session you’ve been waiting for! It provides an overview of effective reading instruction and how this relates specifically to students with learning disabilities, diagnosed or not. Time efficient ways to identify at risk readers, as well as assessment tools that provide specific information related to areas of need, will be discussed. Evidence based reading interventions will be explored through five key pillars of reading instruction (word work, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and motivation). And believe it or not, you will leave with tips and tricks to make learning to read hands on and fun for your reluctant readers.
