Food is an excellent tool for learning. It is familiar to everyone. Cross-curricular methods are the key to engage students in healthy eating habits so important to learn at an early age. This workshop provides you with guidelines and practical tools to incorporate Canada's Food Guide with subject matter from Health & Life Skills, Maths, Social Studies and Science. Current changes proposed to Canada's Food Guide will be highlighted. The discussion will cover how to integrate nutrition education for different grades and curricular outcomes. Hands-on activity introduces participants with Rainbow Pita Wrap as a practical tool to enforce learning in your own classroom.
