Design Thinking for Innovation (DTfI) is a Calgary Board of Education, locally developed high school course, recently approved by Alberta Education for the 2017-2021 school years. This process-driven course, one of the first of its kind in Alberta, encourages students to engage in the development of real-world, long-term, increasingly complex, interdisciplinary, innovation projects. Keith Christensen, the author of the course, will unpack the course, explain the outcomes, discuss possible delivery models and share project ideas. Opportunities for other jurisdictions to offer the course will be discussed. Time will be available for discussion, questions, brainstorming and project dreaming.
