Teaching about Truth and Reconciliation has become a mandatory subject to explore with our students. Though it may be challenging to explore this topic, especially with younger students, it is possible, even in second language. This workshop will allow you to explore inquiry based teaching practices in leading young students toward learning about First Nations, Truth and Reconciliation. Through a multidisciplinary project, students can discover important keys of understanding of being part of a community. Through the social study curriculum, they explore who they are as a unique person, how they are part of a community and how they belong to the Treaty 7 territory. Come and see how a pedagogical project in Kindergarten French Immersion may inspire you to teach about Truth and Reconciliation in your classroom.
