Lauren Stevenson is a Mental Health and Wellness Specialist with the Calgary Board of Education. Lauren has experience in teaching at risk youth with complex trauma backgrounds. She completed her master’s through Gonzaga University, with a focus on advocacy for mental health programming at a universal level. Lauren has done extensive training in both the ARC Trauma Framework and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and has experience in bridging trauma informed practice theory to practical classroom strategies. Lauren is passionate about helping other teachers understand the effects of complex trauma on brain development to better understand how to support the mental health needs of students.
