Participates in 1 Session
Kerry Green is Tsimshian from the Lax Kwa’laams First Nation in the beautiful northwest coast of British Columbia. Kerry received both her Bachelor of Arts degree in German, and Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary. Kerry has spent the last ten years as an elementary educator, and most recently, helped open the new Niitsitapi Learning Centre in September 2016 before moving into a system role with Indigenous Education in January 2017. Kerry continues her work in Indigenous Education at Centennial High School. Her experiences as an Indigenous educator have brought her greater understandings of the necessity of decolonizing our approach to education, to begin embracing the gifts and beauty of Indigenous pedagogy. Through this reframed and shared vision, we will be able to walk together toward hearing and understanding truths and working toward our collective reconciliation.
