  Kai Scholefield was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2005, earning his Bachelors of Arts, in glassblowing. Over the last decade Kai has seen many successes where he owned and operated the art gallery, the Glass Cube, was a partner in the Calgary based glassblowing collective, the Bee Kingdom, and is a founding member of a glass blowing organization in Berlin, Germany. He has exhibited his artwork and lectured locally, nationally and internationally, and most recently he has collaborated with Mandy Patchin to create a touring hot glass show, The Glass House Fine Art Collective. Kai is very passionate about this endeavor as he is truly enjoys educating in the creative field, and performing the theatrics of hot glass (and sassy comedy) for audiences across Western Canada.
